In this brief course, you will be introduced to the amazing technology of 3D printing. You will learn the most common types of 3D printing and why it is a revolutionary manufacturing method for our society. You will also learn some awesome applications of 3D printing: do you know that you can 3D print a heart now ?

This course is for students to learn about what the major of mechanical engineering is like in college. Besides some well known subjects such as robotics and aerospace, mechanical engineering actually contains more, such as control, heat transfer, material, manufacturing, energy, and so on.

Come to learn about different manufacturing processes. We will have an emphasis on 3D printing at the second half of the course!


E866: Introduction to Bioprinting in Splash Spring 2022 (Apr. 16 - Oct. 29, 2022)
This course is serving as an introduction of the field of bioprinting / regenerative medicine. We will be learning the basic prnciples of various 3D printing methods and how they are being applied to bioprinting and what are their advantages and disadvantages.


E777: Introduction to Manufacturing with an emphasis on 3D printing technology in Splash Fall 2021 (Oct. 30, 2021)
This course will serve as an introductio the to the most common manufacturing techniques for products we see in everyday life. We will have an emphasis on additive manufacturing or 3D printing. Do you know you can use light to print an object? Come to learn about it!

This class will serve as an introduction of marine energy (including tidal energy, wave energy, and so on). Student will be able to learn applications of marine energy in various field and the status quo of relevant technologies


O733: Yellow Power & the Asian-American Identity in Splash Spring 2021 (Mar. 13, 2021)
Have you heard of the "yellow consciousness"? In this class, we discuss how the "Asian American" identity emerged as a way of dismantling white supremacy. Using the murder of Vincent Chin as a case study, we will talk about the lived experience of Chinese immigrants, cross-racial coalitions, and how the Yellow Power movement was built.
