Welcome to Splash!

This semester, Splash at Berkeley will be hosting its 20th Splash program where high school students are invited to UC Berkeley's campus to take courses taught by UC Berkeley students on virtually anything. Past classes range from Introduction to Improv Comedy to Elementary Particle Physics, from Kafka and Monty Python to Graph Theory. Over the course of the day, you will get to be exposed to and learn about subjects you are passionate about or might never have known existed.


Program Essentials

  • Who: 9th-12th graders
  • When: Sunday, April 13, 2025 (10 AM - 5 PM)
  • What: Take whatever classes interest you! All classes are taught by UC Berkeley undergraduate and graduate students. Our current class catalog can be found soon . You can also see catalogs from our most recent programs: Fall 2024 Spring 2024.
  • How: Student Registration will open soon.
  • Where: Dwinelle Hall, UC Berkeley Campus (parent program in Dwinelle Hall)
What you need:
  1. YOU MUST COMPLETE AND PRINT ALL FORMS AND WAIVERS HERE
  2. $25: Program Cost (Financial aid is available, see below)
  3. $7: Pizza! (Optional)

Logistics

  • Program Registration: Anyone interested in Splash at Berkeley (parents, teachers, community activists, potential students, etc.) can always create an account for our website. Just click here. By making an account, you agree to receive emails from us regarding our programs. Registration for specific programs will be opened a few weeks before the program date.
  • Lunch: We are serving pizza (vegan and non-vegan) which can be ordered during student registration.
  • Lunch Cost: $7 (optional)
  • Parent Program: We will host a program for parents in Dwinelle Hall! See more details here.

Financial Aid

Financial Aid: Financial limitations should not prevent anyone from participating in Splash at Berkeley. If this program is difficult for you and your family to afford, please apply for financial aid and we will do our best to accommodate you.

  • Splash offers both partial and complete scholarships, depending on need. Full financial aid (including lunch costs) is typically offered for those who already qualify for California's Free and Reduced-Price Lunch Programs. Other cases will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Either way, please make sure to fill out the Financial Aid form during the student registration process. We will take a look at your situation and notify you of our decision before the start of the program.


Transportation Costs: For those who qualify for full financial aid, we can cover public transportation costs as long as you notify us before student registration closes. We will consider other cases on a case-by-case basis, as long as you notify us before student registration closes.


Student Code of Conduct

By registering for classes with Splash at Berkeley, you agree to the following codes of conduct:

  1. Fellow classmates and class teachers must be treated with respect.

  2. Be welcoming of fellow students and teachers from all backgrounds, beliefs, identities, and locations.

  3. Personal information beyond first names must remain private. This includes email address, mailing address, phone number, social media handles, etc. Do not share your own or ask others for personal information.

  4. Students who participate and therefore agree to this code of conduct acknowledge that we have a zero-tolerance policy. If these guidelines are not followed, students will be removed from classes by a teacher or moderator.

  5. Students must ensure that their parents are aware of their participation and that they have reviewed the details of our program and the Codes of Conduct.


General Schedule (PST)

9:00 am - 10:00 am: Check-in (Check in 20+ minutes before your first class)

10:00 am - 1:00 pm: Classes (most begin at 10am)

1:00 pm - 2:00 pm: Lunch Break

2:00 pm - 5:00 pm : Classes
