E1269: Building Rube Goldberg Machines in Splash Spring 2024 (Apr. 21, 2024)
Join us to build a series of simple machines that demonstrate physics concepts like levers, pulleys, chain reactions, and conservation of energy. At the end, we will combine the simple machines to build a single Rube Goldberg machine. This class is taught by a club at UC Berkeley that teaches science lessons to underserved elementary schools in the bay area, but we have adapted this lesson for high schoolers.

S1270: The Science of Smells in Splash Spring 2024 (Apr. 21, 2024)
Join us as we learn about smells! In this joint lab and lecture, we will discuss what exactly a smell is and how we perceive it. To do this, we will be performing a small-scale chemical synthesis of various compounds, each with their own unique smell! We will discuss what makes the smell of each of these compounds unique, as well as how we are able to interpret these smells. This class is taught by a club at UC Berkeley that teaches science lessons to underserved elementary schools in the bay area, but we have written an all-new original lesson just for SPLASH!

E1133: Build-A-Bridge in Splash Fall 2023 (Nov. 18, 2023)
We're going to be learning about and building different types of bridges. This course is taught by a club at UC Berkeley that teaches science lessons to elementary kids in under resourced schools in the bay area. We've adapted a lesson for high school students. Take this course if you want to meet a group a college students passionate about education and STEM, and if you want to learn more about bridges!

E1134: It's just Rocket Science in Splash Fall 2023 (Nov. 18, 2023)
We're going to be launching a bottle rocket and learning about the science to how it works. Take this course if you want to meet a group a college students passionate about education and STEM, and if you want to learn some rocket science! This course is taught by a club at UC Berkeley that teaches science lessons to elementary kids in under resourced schools in the bay area. We've adapted a lesson for high school students.

O730: Sticks and Stones May Break My Bones, But Words Can Sometimes Hurt Me in Splash Spring 2021 (Mar. 13, 2021)
In this lesson, we will be giving a brief introduction of linguistics, the scientific study of languages. Through a series of interactive activities, we aim to help students understand the different aspects of language, including phonetics, writing systems, and nonverbal communication.

S624: Genetics in Splash Fall 2020 (Oct. 31, 2020)
In this lesson, students will be delving into genetics and DNA. The students will first explore natural selection through a simulation, then create a DNA model to learn about the structure of DNA and the pairing of nucleotides. By the end of the lesson, students will have a general understanding of the structure, components, and importance of DNA, as well as how natural selection influences our genetics.
