This course surveys the illustrious history and traditions of the University of California, Berkeley, from its inception in 1868 to the present day. If you are a Bay Area native (or just a student interested in university history and the California Spirit), then this is the lecture for you! We will talk about the movers and shakers of Berkeley, famous Cal athletes, our beloved mascot Oski, Berkeley's numerous scientific achievements, how we got our name and earned our reputation as a top tier public university.
