Brief Biographical Sketch:

Taila Lee is the Digital Content/Editorial intern at GRAMMY.com. Specializing in the pop and indie genres, her writing delves into how music influences culture, community and personal identity. Lee, who grew up in the Bay Area and attends UC Berkeley, has written for KTVU and KQED. She is also an Emma Bowen Fellow and served as the Head Arts and Entertainment Editor at The Daily Californian. A1075: It All Starts With Arts: Intro to Arts Journalism & Entertainment Industry Careers in Splash Spring 2023 (Apr. 23, 2023)
Ever wondered what’s it like to interview your favorite musician? To photograph concerts professionally? To work a red carpet or arts festival as press? In this class, you’ll learn about the entertainment industry careers no one talks about, the soft and hard skills necessary for arts journalists, and how to turn a hot pop culture moment into a pitch. This class is for aspiring journalists/content creators, pop culture lovers, and those curious about networking or what it’s like to write for a college student newspaper.


O669: Introduction to Journalism in Splash Fall 2020 (Oct. 31, 2020)
Interested in creative storytelling? Thinking about joining your school newspaper? From writing to interviewing to audio to social media, students will learn about all the different aspects of journalism. Currently an arts and entertainment reporter for The Daily Californian, Taila Lee condenses everything she’s learned from four years of journalism experience into a fifty-minute class. (**This class is intended for beginners, but students from all levels are welcome!**)
