Splash Biography

Ĉu vi volas lerni novan lingvon? Do you want to learn a new language? Do you want it to be simple, with not too much memorization and yet a huge amount of expressive power? Do you want to communicate with and learn from people around the world, regardless of their first language? Learn Esperanto, a language designed (yes, designed) to be exactly that—regular and easy to learn, so that people can communicate with each other through a common second language! It's also good preparation for learning other languages in the future. (The Wikipedia article is a good overview: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esperanto) In this class, I'll teach the basics of the language (which are also most of what you need to use it!). Then, we'll have a workshop, where you can practice speaking the language, learn words relevant to your interests, and write your own Esperanto texts! (For the workshop, a laptop might be useful to write and/or look up words, but isn't necessary.) (If you're interested in conlangs, we're also teaching a Toki Pona class!)
