What is Splash?
Splash at Berkeley brings local high school students to the University of California, Berkeley for a day of unlimited student-led learning. Participating students take courses in both conventional and unconventional subjects taught by Berkeley students (occasionally other university students). Our goal is to build a unique educational environment not found within the standard school curriculum. Students are exposed to topics that they wouldn't normally have access to and are empowered to take ownership of their education. On the teacher side, we give Berkeley students an opportunity to contribute to the community by sharing their passions. As a Splash teacher, you get to pick any subject or activity that excites you and that you want to teach for a one-time class. You can structure your section however you want; a small lab course, a large lecture class, or anything in between. Splash is a program run entirely by volunteers, and we rely on the Berkeley student community to make it happen! Splash at Berkeley is a registered student organization acting independently of the University of California. The student organization is the host of Berkeley Splash and takes full responsibility for the guests. Get Involved!
