Brief Biographical Sketch:

Sage is a senior studying everything she can get her hands on. She teaches her DeCal course to 160 students, the largest student-led class on campus, has and taught it for the past four semesters. In addition to teaching and her coursework, she works for the UCB Office of Sustainability as a Carbon Neutrality Initiative Fellow and leads the ASUC Senate’s Department of Zero Waste. As a low-income, first generation student of color, she makes an effort to center marginalized people in discussions about the environment.

S628: Zero Waste: Solutions for a Sustainable Future in Splash Fall 2019 (Nov. 02, 2019)
Concerned about climate change? Not sure what to do about the plastic pollution crisis? This lecture will be an introduction to environmental education, focused on actionable solutions that you can implement in your own life and use to push for system change. We will also provide comprehensive resources for exploring a variety of environmental topics beyond this session. This class will be taught by award-winning DeCal instructor, Sage Lenier, creator of UCB's largest student-led course.
